CGR: Who was your musical inspiration? Rudy: I started singing at an early age with my father in church. I sang gospel with him in church. My father is my musical inspiration.
CGR: How do you feel as a female singing/performing in a predominantly male dominated industry? Rudy: It can be challenging at times. But I can hold my own as a strong woman.
CGR: So you’ve collaborated with major Caribbean artists like Machel Montano. Congrats on a great collabo with him. How did that come about? Rudy: Thank you very much. It was great. We actually sent the song to Machel’s team and asked if he was interested in doing a remix. And he did! While I never worked directly with him for the remix, it was a great feeling to know that Machel actually wanted to work with me.
CGR: That’s a good feeling, to work with someone you think so highly of. It’s a testament to your work and you should feel proud. Caribbean girls rock! Rudy: Yes we do!
CGR: Where do you get your sense of style? Rudy: I look at fashion on TV, and what’s trendy. I pull a lot of my clothes together that way.
